Talk through what your will needs in ChatGPT, then finish it on WillBuddy without answering again.
The WillBuddy app for ChatGPT isn't available yet. This page explains how it works.
One short question at a time: your state, your family, your executors, guardians if you have children under 18, who gets the rest, and the kinds of things you own.
WillBuddy's rules show what's done, what's missing, and anything worth extra care, like super, a family trust or property overseas. Where it matters, it suggests a solicitor.
When you ask, it gives you a one-time link. Open it in your browser and your answers are already there.
Your will is drafted on WillBuddy, after you've checked every answer.
It gives general information. For a complex estate, we suggest a solicitor.
It can't open, change or continue a will you've already started. Sign in at willbuddy.com.au for that.
No addresses, dates of birth, asset values, account numbers or health details. WillBuddy asks for your address on its own page, later.
To be valid, a will generally has to be signed and witnessed the way the law of your state or territory requires. WillBuddy shows you how for your state when you print your will.
ChatGPT checks your answers with WillBuddy and asks whether you agree to send them.
It works once and expires within an hour. Nothing about you is in the link itself.
WillBuddy opens on "Check your will" with your answers filled in. Change anything, add your address, then save it with your email to keep it.
ChatGPT conversations are handled by OpenAI under its own terms. WillBuddy never receives the conversation, only the answers the app sends.
Your answers are sent to WillBuddy to be checked, and we don't keep them. They're stored only if you ask to continue and agree.
We keep them encrypted in Sydney until you open your link. If you never open it, they are deleted after 24 hours, when our daily clean-up next runs, so within 2 days.
